The RSPCA Sunderland, Hartlepool and South Tyneside branch approached me to develop characters that represented the RSPCA 'Five needs' for animal welfare - Health, Home, Food & drink, Company and Behaviour for child-friendly literature and educational materials. The idea was to create 'wisps' - characters that are abstract and conscience-based. Initial sketches were made to try and encapsulate the needs within the confines of abstract characters.
Initial sketches of the characters were passed to focus groups and some amendments and suggestions were taken on board. The final characters were warmly received and are being rolled out as educational materials including 2 published stories featuring the characters.
"I can't recommend Scott highly enough. His communication was spot on from day one, and his skills in transferring a brief into reality were absolutely key to our project. He recognised our vision, showed excellent adaptability to feedback and changes to the overall spec. But most of all, his creativity and talent brought our characters to life. We look forward to working with Scott in the future."
