Bespoke jewellery maker and entrepreneur Graham Robertson approached me to brand up his startup business. Graham creates unique unisex jewellery to sell and to order. The name Pier to Pier came from his roots and his chosen home - famous for their piers. He wanted an identity that was simple, contemporary, 'handmade' and could work on small tags as well as on social media and larger print materials.
I looked at coastal textural imagery to marry with the name - something that felt sea-battered and 'found' like driftwood. Many suggested designs were created before we settled on a font, look/feel and colour scheme.
